Keeping It In Perspective

Today someone asked me Presley's age and I said "almost 2".  Sure - she's still about 3 months away from that milestone, but it made me realize how time flies.  I had an intense mom nostalgia moment about how fast time flies and you don't get it back.  One of my favorite things she does right now is the running hug.  She will stand across the room from you and say, "HUG!".  Then you are supposed to open your arms wide, so she can run and jump into your lap while hugging you tight.  It is so precious.  All I can think is - one day she is going to be too cool to give me running hugs.  One day she will rather spend time with friends.  One day she will be busy with school and activities.  One day she won't be living in the next bedroom wanting to be rocked first thing in the morning.

These are the things I try to recall when she's throwing a tantrum on the sidewalk, waking up at 5am, or dumping the dog water bowl on the floor.

Here are some of the other things Presley's been up to lately:

Loves riding her "horse" around the house.

But then he gets tired and needs a drink.

...And something to eat... out of our dog's food bowl.

Changing her baby's diaper.

The weather has been SO nice the last week or so.  We are loving being outside more. She has eaten a lot of dirt. (sigh)
Presley loves to play with her "drums" (a loaf pan and a tupperware container).  Blake will play and she dances.

Then they switch.  Love it.
