Escape to the South

Last weekend we went to SC for 5 family and friend filled days.  It was such a great opportunity for Presley to see those that love her, but don't get to see her very often.  There were challenges changing planes and time zones with an almost-8 month old.  But overall she was a great traveller and we are so thankful that we didn't have any major meltdowns or diaper blow-outs.  Here is a recap of what we were able to do.

Friday - Blake's 30th birthday!  We celebrated with Krispy Kreme doughnuts and then going out to dinner with some friends.  My mom was nice enough to baby-sit so that we could have a date night out.  During the day, I went to lunch with my mom and some of her coworkers.  Then we went to get mani/pedis.  How come I was the one spoiled on Blake's birthday?

Saturday - We relaxed around the house with Presley.  It's amazing how fast an entire day goes by with a little one.  That night we got together with several of my high school friends and their families.  It's crazy how many kids are in our crew these days.  Needless to say, our get together didn't go quite as late or get quite as crazy as in the past.

Sunday - My entire extended family came over to my grandmother's for lunch.  That night I was able to catch up with a college roommate over margaritas.  Let's just say, a pitcher is MORE than two drinks a piece.

Monday - We visited with my dad most of the day.  And Tuesday we were headed back home!

Here are some pics from the trip.  Sadly, Blake was often the one behind the camera and isn't in any of these!

Presley waiting in the airport for our next flight.  Baby in airport is a nightmare for a germaphobe like myself.

Morning reading time at Granny's house

Such a great opportunity to see some of my favorite girls!  I am looking forward to going home in May for the annual "girls weekend" and my 10 year high school reunion.

Presley hanging out with Uncle Danny after he got off of work.

Pres enjoyed using her new crawling skills to chase the cat around the house.

Unfortunately, Presley decided to take her longest nap on record while Grandpa Fred was in Columbia for a visit.  He did get a little cuddle time, though.
