Presley's Half-Birthday - 18 Months Old

When we say, "Say cheese!", Presley yells "cheeese!" and throws up her #1 hands.  Forget Tebowing, maybe everyone should "Presley" and rock the #1's.

Heres's a little (well, a lot) of what lil' P is up to these days:

-She loves to put things "back". She pulls all of the kleenex out of a box and "blows her nose" on them, which means she put them to her face and makes a snorting noise. Then she puts them BACK in the box.
When I'm putting away laundry, she stuffs as much as she can into one drawer. Then she puts it all BACK in the basket. So helpful.

-Presley is really learning her numbers, letters, and shapes. She can name about half of the alphabet, several shapes, and all of her numbers 1-9. She enjoys running around stores yelling out numbers that she sees on display. Her favorite letter is "B". So much so that she grabbed the B ornament off of our tree and broke it.

-We enjoy listening as Presley learns to say new things everyday. Lately her favorite phrases have been "Mac black dog" or "I don't know". She also loves saying Blake's name. I think she must have picked it up from me, but now she says his first name more than she says daddy. It's kinda funny.

-She tells Mac "No" a lot. Apparently we have taught her how to scold the dog well. The problem is that he's not always doing something wrong. She LOVES to chase Mac with her box (See previous post.), her baby stroller, or her little play cart. We are trying to teach her that it's ok to play and chase, but not ok to ram the poor pup. (sigh)

-Presley has also taken to telling other kids "No" and shaking her finger at them. She must have picked up on my obnoxious, bossy gene. Karma? Yesterday at the playground she told several other toddlers "no" when they tried to play with the piece of equipment she was already using. Other times she is great at sharing, so who knows.

-Presley just started saying "I lub you" back to us and blowing kisses. It's so cute.  She also insists on saying bye to everything - even inanimate objects.  Today at the library, she made sure she kissed every stuffed animal in the reading area before we left.

-Life is sometimes a battle with our 18 month old. We are learning that it's much harder to discipline your child and teach them that they don't always get their way, rather than just give them what they want. Things she protests a lot are getting dressed, getting her diaper changed, sitting in her carseat, and of course, time out.

-Presley makes us laugh every day. She loves to read books and play with her blocks. She loves to jump around on mommy and daddy's bed and wrestle with daddy. She especially loves when Blake throws her around while I cringe in the background.

We're excited to celebrate Christmas with her this year! Here are a couple pictures from last year's Christmas. I love to see how much she has changed.
